You can remove and cut,
even until you are in a isolated hut,
trying to ring fence and avoid the mud.
Outside looking holy and clean but
once water hits the ground,
you will again hear the sound,
of mud all around.
You might be able to fool,
and hide your sins by human rule.
God knows your heart,
except you repent and depart,
being by the Spirit led,
to take hold of Christ who died in your stead,
changing your heart that once was lead,
you will be with judgment surely met.
For God hath surely said,
if your righteousness exceed not the Pharisee,
and you are not perfect like me,
you cannot in My presence be,
for My eyes can sin not see,
without punishing sin duly.
Cast away from the light of His face,
you will endure forever wrath and not grace.
Since you your own righteousness warmly embrace,
ring fencing by human rule your dwelling place,
His Christ you did replace.
O turn then sinner for there is but only One,
who the righteousness of God hath done.
Jesus Christ His only beloved Son.
Put your faith in Him alone,
and His life will for you atone.
That you too might sing of a new birth,
filling with glory, to the Father, the earth,
and in heaven, as brother and sister, forever glorify His worth.
