Let not one day go by,
in which I do not groan and sigh.
Awaiting and hastening the day,
of Your return of power and majesty in full display.
Yet let not my heart be dismayed,
but let a holy zeal for your house,
be the fire of my heart, my daily spouse.
Not that the letter of the law be obeyed,
but that the Beloved be through me displayed.
Withold not your mercy and your grace,
let your loving kindness of your covenant face,
shine upon, my heart, the darkest place.
Yes, o LORD, let it fear replace.
Hold me fast till the end,
when every knee shall bend.
Let my life for this be spent.
O Father, this I ask, in the name of your son,
the well Beloved and well pleasing One.
I do humbly before you come,
yet not my will but your will be done.
