The man that comes to defend his own case.
With his man made self-righteousness.
With excuses and own reasons for forgiveness.
Will only have himself before the Father’s face.
Only those lowly
and meekly.
Coming with no defence…
Neither with any pretence.
But rests solely,
on the grace of the Holy…
Yes crying be merciful to me,
a sinner with no defence to plea…
Will have nothing less than the mercy of Thee.
For Christ bore the wrath on the tree.
So that the condemned should be free…
Yes indeed, indeed:
In front of the Father’s face,
the only words to plead:
Oh how glorious Thy grace!
For thy only Son took my place!
